Family Life Centre
The family life centre is a hub of support designed to strengthen family life in Stirling and beyond.
The FLC offers one to one support for individuals, parent(s) and families;
FLC PLAY THERAPY SERVICE.
Therapeutic play with our fully trained play therapist offers the child a safe place, with no judgements, expectations or agenda. Using various resources i.e. puppets, sand, creative arts, figures, and games enables children to share their unexpressed feelings through play and creative means.
LISTENING TIME FOR YOU
This time offers people a time to explore their concerns or worries in confidence. Talking things over can help people to explore ways of managing life’s stresses. The listeners are trained and supervised by Listen Well Scotland.
BACK CHAT SCHOOL LISTENING SERVICE
Working closely with a local high school, trained therapists offer young people a 1:1 thirty minute session to be able to talk about and find solutions to issues which are causing them concern. These issues ranged from self-harm, anxiety and depression resulting often from complex family situations.
The Refresh seminars (wwwrefreshseminars). This is an informal community interest group aiming to provide a Stirling values-led programme of helpful, reliable information. This monthly meeting has provided reliable information and lively discussions on topical subjects by Stirling people for Stirling people. Other courses such as parenting and money management are available on request.
THIRD SECTOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN FORUM
The Forum operates as the local voice of the third sector and works to represent this work on operational and strategic planning groups with community planning partners. It seeks to bring a third sector influence to policy, planning and services.
