SBC Covenant Service
On the first Sunday of the year (06/01/08), we had our Covenant Service. Our senior Pastor, Dr. Alasdair Black led us, as through prayer and promises we pledged our lives to God's service for the coming year.
A Church Covenant
We the people of Stirling Baptist Church do hereby solemnly covenant and agree that God has called us to be His people in this place, in partnership with other Christians in our neighbourhood.
Having received Christ as our Lord and Saviour we commit
ourselves before God to do the following:
Protect the unity of our church
……….by acting in love towards other members (1 Pet. 1:22)
……….by refusing to gossip (Eph. 4:29)
……….by respecting and supporting its leaders (1Thes.5:14)
Support the life of our church
……….by attending faithfully (Heb. 10:23)
……….by living a godly life (Phil 1:27)
……….by giving regularly (1 Cor. 16:2)
Share in the work of our church
……….by praying for it and its growth (1Thes. 1:1)
……….by using my gifts and talents (1 Pet. 4:10)
……….by making myself available to serve (Phil. 2:5)
Uphold the message of our church
……….by caring for the poor and oppressed (Matt 25)
……….by warmly welcoming those who visit (Rom. 15:7)
……….by inviting the unchurched to attend (Luke 14:23)
We therefore commit ourselves as a gathered community to be the family of God in this place, worshipping the Father, living the life into which Jesus calls us and sharing all that the Spirit gives to us. Amen
