Start-Up

Start-Up is a local registered charity, based in the Stirling area,
which represents 21 churches of varying denominations, and which has
been active for 12 years.  The day-to-day running of the project is
undertaken by management committe appointed annually by the member
churches and is carried on a voluntary basis.

What does Start-Up do?

There primary goal is to help people, accommodated in temporary
accommodation due to homeless, at the point of moving into a long-term
tenancy.  We provide some of the basic necessities they need at that
time.  These include small household goods, food and cleaning materials,
also toiletries, while duvets, electric kettle and toasters are more
recent additions range of essential items of food, washing up  liquid,
etc, for people at the point of entry to temporary accommodation.

Shampoo & conditioner(men & women)
shower gel (men & women)
soap (men & women)
toothbrush & toothpaste
tissues
facecloth
tampons & panty liners (women only)
shaving foam & razors (men only)

These can be put in the box which is at the bottom of the stone stair

Note: The ratio of need for toiletries is roughly double the number for
men as for women
