Alistair (known as ‘Al’) is SBC’s Pastor of Family Life. He is married to Lynsey, his wife since 1997, and together they are bringing up 4 children: Nathan (b. 2001); Amaris (b. 2004); Rebekah (b. 2006); and Hannah (b. 2008). He started the post at SBC in Feb 2009.
Prior to coming to SBC, Al worked with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for nine years doing missions and Bible teaching in many diverse nations across Asia and Africa. Before joining YWAM he spent 6 years teaching PE (yes, he does have a sadistic side).
To relax, Al enjoys family outings, going to the gym, listening to heavy metal (Demonhunter rule!), and reading books.
His desires, passions and foci for the job of Family Life Pastor are to support and help families grow in their walk with God as a family, aid children in developing their own faith in the Lord Jesus, and reach out to Stirling families in order to introduce them into a dynamic faith in Jesus Christ.
