"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth"
Acts 1:8
Our vision is to be a Spirit-filled and empowered witnessing community locally, regionally and beyond.
COMMITMENT
The commitment we seek:
Serve locally

Engage globally
BE THE CHURCH

LOCAL
1. VISIBLE PRESENCE
We believe we’re called to be a witnessing community right where we are.
Our vision as a fellowship is: “To be a spirit-filled and empowered witnessing community.”
This purpose involves us in the lives of those outside the church, as well as those within it, reaching from the very youngest to the oldest.
At SBC we want to create a relaxed, friendly and informal atmosphere where people can grow in their relationship with God and be supported by living out their Christian lives

"For you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard, and now why do you wait?"
Acts 22:15-16
2. WORSHIP
In worship, we not only encounter God but each other. The church is all of us together and our presence is a vital part.
Our vision for worship is to lead others into all-out, uncompromising worship of God.
Our primary purpose is to give God the glory, honour and praise that He deserves.
Above all, we desire for God to be glorified through everything we do.

"And they devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers"
Acts 2:42
3. CHILDREN & YOUTH
It takes the whole church to raise the next generation. Our investment is crucial in developing and exercising our skills and giftings; enabling us to fully contribute at any age.
We are passionate about coming alongside families, partnering with them to encourage confidence, faith and purpose in young lives. We provide a regular, age-appropriate programme of meetings, events and activities which seek to provide children and young adults with opportunities to engage in spiritual reflection and to develop and reflect on their own beliefs.
Our programs and initiatives seek to cultivate an empowering and safe community for every child to thrive.

Psalm 78:4
REGIONAL
1. REGIONAL COMMUNITIES
At SBC we are passionate about hearing the voice of God, praying for others and following His lead. We have people praying all over the city in many different settings for the needs of our local communities, our cities, our country and the world.
Many people at Stirling Baptist have found being part of a small group to be a huge blessing. They are a setting in which you can build lasting friendships and grow spiritually.
There are groups who meet together in each of our local regions so there is probably at least one close to you. There are also groups which meet together over a joint interest.
CALLANDER
Among the membership of SBC are a group of Christians who live around Callander and worship at SBC but are convinced that God wants them also to be a witness in their local community and be the church right where they are.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another . By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another"
John 13:34-35
2. REGIONAL HUBS
Church is wherever we are and SBC has responded to particular needs in distinct areas.
We have various regional hubs that provide a witness and presence in these areas.
THE HAVEN
Our vision to ‘change peoples’ perspective of Christ and the Church in the Top of the Town.’
We want to combat the belief that the church is irrelevant and help people who live between our church and the castle discover that Christ provides hope, freedom and life to the fullest.
This happens in small ways, by building a great reputation for the church in our community engagement. But we are also committed and excited to see change happen in big ways, as people discover Christ’s love, forgiveness and guidance for their lives.

3. REGIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES
We believe in putting faith into action in our communities and supporting those who are struggling.
FAMILY LIFE CENTRE

CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY
CAP have a vision to bring freedom and good news to the poor in every community through a nationwide network of CAP projects.
We’re delighted to partner with them to launch ForthValley CAP in the Spring.
It’s our prayer that this will help people find the love and hope of Jesus.

with your God?

BEYOND
1. CORPORATE CALLING
We are called to support and engage with the witness of the church in a global context.
This is an area of involvement the church as a whole shares. It is the corporate calling of the church in relation to a global issue, country or project. It is where God asks us a whole church to make a specific difference in the world.
Our corporate focus at SBC is trafficking and our vision is to see numbers of trafficking reduce not just in Scotland but all over the world.

2. INDIVIDUAL CALLING
This is an area of interest, concern or calling in regard to another part of the world that is not necessarily shared by the whole church.
It may involve going abroad, financially supporting or raising awareness.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
